SEE NO EMAIL...then...SEE NO EVIL...MEDUSA

First a little biz...email change for some
My old email address that some may still be using
mike@assemblage.myrf.net = bad email address

assemblage@michaeldemeng.com = good email address.

Okay no to the important stuff....
Clash of the Titans! the Remake! WooHoo
in the past I mentioned I have a think for woman with snakes in there hair.  In particular Medusa...though the Francis Ford Coppela's  Dracula had a nice vampiress with snake hair as well...the woman on the left has snakey hair...yes really snakes are in there.
As for Medusa.  Here's a nice collection of her to peruse...as a blog reader pointed out to me after my last Medusa post...don't judge her to harshly...she is a villain because she made love to Poseidon in the Temple of Athena...thus she was punished...kinda harsh, but that's me.

I mention her because as an early teen...I loved the film Clash of the Titans...
Mostly because it had the cool stop animation effects of Ray Harryhausen...of Sinbad fame (which I also loved as a kid)
Now to find out a remake of Clash of the Titans is on the way...super cool.  Liam Neeson to play Zeus (Lawrence Olivier was Zeus in the orginal...must have been tough times for him to do this one).  My only hope is that they do my darling Medusa justice.  The first version, though a bit dated now, was pretty nifty...the especially the snake bodied Divine Ms. M...  Check out a video clip...if you dare..

Woot! I loved this movie. It mad e an indelible impression on me. As crude as the special effects were, it remains one of my faves. The first time I saw it was laying on the floor in the back room of the local teen hangout "The Depot." They had a big projection TV and showed movies for free on Saturdays to keep the kids in and out of trouble. I will have to get it from Netflix now. I am sure the remake won't be nearly as wonderful, although I love Liam Neeson.

Yes! Mad malevolent Medusa slithering along, sword slashing poor mortals. Who wouldn't be a bit testy if every day was a bad hair day? Loved both movies and Harry...and Liam Neeson...what's not to love?
Thanks for the link. It was great to see the old girl in action again.

Michael.. Clash was/is one of my favorite movies.. I still quote some of the lines at home after all these years. How exciting to see a remake.. I sure do hope they don't ruin it... Can't wait now.

Thanks for posting that clip, I hadn't seen that scene for years and it brought back all sorts of memories. I also remember all of the Sinbad movies from the saturday afternoon matinees in our little midwest town. Great stuff to have grown up with.
A remake??? Cool.

I remember seeing Harryhausen's props in an exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art years ago. Yes, I a fan of this movie. A friend thought I would enjoy your art and it is wickedly fun. Why isn't there a "smell no evil"? I like working with found objects as well, mostly in a site specific context. My blog is on wordpress.
