I have more on the way but here's the first peak. It's a slightly different format than you've seen from me. This was a direction the beautiful Judy had offered up as a direction. Originally this head was going to be a Krampus...thus the tounge and the horns...I then removed the horns but ultimatley the horns looked better than without...so ManPig from Hell.
This little piggy went wee wee wee...all over the bones.
Went to the Art Gallery of New South Wales Today...a great retrospective on Australia's most reknowed painter Sydney Nolan. Great exhibit...the painting is phenom...especially if you see some of the techniques he played with throught the years.
Here's more of his work http://www.pictureaustralia.org/nolan/

ReplyDeleteMy immediate thought was, "Oh! Retablos!" then of course I had to run to Google - figuratively of course, to see if in fact my memory was playing tricks. But nope! Rejoice! Retablos! I would LOVE to see an entire wall done in this technique Michael. Engraving is so passe - Reuse'n'Recycle is where it's at. You rock!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the man-pig Michael! What a great idea and I can just see one of these gracing my wall amongst my masks! Tres cool!
ReplyDeleteSO....the man/pig thing....kind of redundant, huh? JUST KIDDING.
ReplyDeleteLove the whole concept. I am looking forward to seeing the other concoctions. Toddler/elephant??????
The banks are amazing!!!! What a find.
Hope you are having fun....sure sounds like it.
Hmmm, Michael, has anyone ever told you that you have a very odd sense of humor? Hmm? I'm always chuckling when I read your blog. Oh, and I'm so sorry to hear about the burglary! It is violating, isn't it? I have had that happen before too. It's really freaky when you realize some stranger has been through your underwear drawer... not in your case but true in mine. Sorta' makes the hair stand up on your arms, know what I mean? Anyway, I was on your e-mail list so add me back in.

I hope you and Judy are having a wonderful time together.
Love the manimals. How manly is your man-cow? I love cows and have a mini collecrion. Imagine a man-cow with all the ladies. Nirvana.
ReplyDeleteMy uncle named a cow in my honor.
I was flattered. Thanks for the preview, it's wonderful.
