I was in Portland last week doing a little Art and Soul-ing. Spent some time with a number of my friends who live out there. I spent very nice evening with my friend Linda and her husband Jeremy. After a bit of eating and then drinking they took me to the location of there wedding...thats right Voodoo Doughnuts. Sure its sounds a bit odd, but then again...I am, in fact legally ordained myself (no joke...I have actually performed about 14 or so weddings for those who are, like me, a bit of a Joseph Campbell-mix and match mythology types). So below is my Voodoo doughnut with blood (raspberry) filling.
And then there is the Captain Crunch
Or the Tangfastic
I ended up taking Tracy Bautista, Karen Michel and Traci Bunkers there one afternoon...quite fun.
AUTUMN is in MisSOULa
It is one of those amazing Autumn days here in Missoula. The smell of leaves in the air and the sun is hot but the air is cool. I took a little stroll in a park a few minutes away from my house and this is what I saw...
nice bit of autumn for us southerns who are jealous...
ReplyDeletefunky donuts too~
Hey, I think I left my grey polar fleece sweatshirt thing in your van when we went downtown. Did you find it? This seemed to be the trip for me losing things . . .

ReplyDeleteI got a good laugh out of the Voodoo donuts! What a GREAT idea! That one looks a wee bit like "oh no! Mr. Bill!" Remember that???Thanks for the sidetrip!

ReplyDeleteMy old ex boyfriend got married at Voodoo donuts, I was hoping to see it while we were driving around lost & confused!
Didn't get a chance to talk w/ you much, I hope all is well.
I LOVE my shrine, you should have seen me in the airport trying to explain it to the humorless TSA peeps!
Those photographs are gorgeous, and wow, what a fantastic store. Yet another reason why I wish I lived in Portland instead of Virginia.
ReplyDeleteoh my, what gorgeous autumnal colours! I love the low angle shot of the tree trunks and the carpet of golden leaves.
ReplyDeletethose are some rather special looking doughnuts, my personal favourite would be the voodoo doll, almost looks too good to eat.
